Update (7 December 2016): Congratulations and well done to all who participated at the Support Evelina London Children’s Hospital zipline event, and managed to raise over £1m for a new research unit at Evelina London.
Professor Gideon Lack took part in the Evelina Zip Wire challenge on 2 December 2016, in aid of raising funds to support a brand new Children’s Allergy Clinical Research Facility at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
I am very grateful to all of you who have sponsored me so far for the Evelina Zip Wire challenge, in aid of raising funds to support a brand new Children’s Allergy Clinical Research Facility at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, which will enable us to carry out more clinical studies to combat children’s allergies.
The event will take place this Friday 2nd December, and I am due to zip wire over the river Thames from the top of St Thomas’ Hospital, 120 feet above ground, to the Victoria Tower Gardens next to the House of Lords, at approximately 2:00pm. This is the first time an event like this has ever taken place across the Thames and is highly unlikely to ever happen again, a truly once-in-a-life-time opportunity. Only 20 intrepid individuals will be taking part.
If you would like to sponsor me, please do visit my Virgin Money Giving page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GideonLackEvelina
It would be great to see you at St. Thomas’ Hospital this Friday. There will be a Christmas market in St Thomas’ gardens, selling Christmas products and produce, as well as carol singers and a vintage fire engine provided by the London Fire Brigade who will be in attendance. There is more information about the whole event and where the money will go on the Evelina website; http://www.supportevelina.org.uk/zip
Warmest regards and thanks,
Professor Gideon Lack
